Will my pharmacist know what medications are okay to take together?
I just started taking Zoloft for my depression and anxiety and i’m not quite sure which side effects i’m going to experience, but if i do happen to experience nausea/vomiting or diarrhea I want to take something like pepto-bismol or something similar to ease the pain. I have an extreme fear of vomiting so this will definitely be a problem for me if it starts to happen. I also take Ranitidine to help with my acid reflex so I am planning on calling my pharmacist to see if it’s okay. Would they know that type of information or should i just call my doctor? and if so which one, the one who prescribed the Zoloft or the one who prescribed the ranitidine?

A pharmacist should know. You can also look up each drug on the Mayo clinic website to see what interactions there are for each drug. You should also check to see what nutritional deficiencies each drug causes. Of course you could also get Naturopathic/Homeopathic treatment that takes care of such things without drugs.

Your Pharmacist is definitely your best bet in this situation. He/she is highly trained in drugs and drug interactions and would be able to give you accurate information.

I wish you well.
